Job Description

To maintain the fellowship program for the Department of Anesthesiology to meet all requirements necessary for accreditation; provides support to fellows and faculty.

Job Duty

Screens all applications for fellowship program and facilitates the entire interview process. Coordinates, reviews, and manages all in-processing procedures, forms, and other documents. Coordinates and manages all out-processing procedures for house staff. Prepare and monitors all medical liability forms for departing, renewing, and new fellows. Prepares rotation schedules and closely examines and tracks fellows’ rotations in order to record accurately all rotation changes. Prepares and monitors rotation evaluations. Prepares authorization forms and other correspondence required for off-site training. Maintain house staff time and leave records including fellows with off-campus rotations. Assist in Medical Clerkship and Core Residency Programs.

Coordinates orientation day. Interprets and implements Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education accreditation guidelines and policies relative to accredited programs and participating fellows. Manage WebAds database for annual submission to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, for all programs. Monitors New Innovation schedules of fellow rotations for IRIS/Medicare report for VA, UHS, and Christus Santa Rosa. Coordinates ordering and implementation of annual Fellowship In-Service Exam. Updates manual for Fellowship Program. Assists Fellowship Program Directors in compilation of materials for site visits and Fellowship Program for accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Job Duty

Prepares, coordinates, and administers databases, examinations, write-ups, and all credentialing and verification requirements of house staff. Completes forms and documents required annually for Foreign Medical Graduates continuation of J-1 visa sponsorship. Monitor fellows’ compliance in annual renewal of Texas medical license. Coordinates paperwork for UT system risk management requirements for new fellows. Prepares memorandums of understanding contracts between UT Anesthesiology fellowship programs and rotation facilities. Notifies fellows regarding policies and procedures.

Maintains computer database of former fellows. Monitors fellowship compliance. Coordinates graduation and orientation receptions. Creates and maintains New Innovations campus-wide, web-based database. Monitors fellowship program budget. Manage core residency leave. Process and coordinate military rotations.
