Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial administration, business operations, or clinical research and oversight including but not limited to experience in financial management, budget development, clinical trials agreements, invoicing, and /or fiscal management.

Job Description

This position assists in the development of processes, systems, educational programs and the management of the financial operations of Clinical Trials supported by the Clinical Trials Office (CTO). The Senior uses financial expertise to negotiate with sponsors to maximize project revenue, ensure regulatory compliant clinical billing, and build research projects into the clinical trial management system (CTMS).

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of clinical trial management systems, clinical trial contracting and research billing compliance. Familiarity with federal regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical research. Experience in an academic medical setting or university environment.

Job Duty

Negotiates research study budgets with industry sponsors to ensure adequate study funding. Provides financial and administrative support for clinical research projects regardless of funding source. Ensures integration of institutional and regulatory compliance in project development. Oversees all other budget team member contributions in project development, including review of work product and assurance that all deadlines are met.

Responsible for review of study documentation (protocol, informed consent, contract and budget) to eliminate disagreements in financial language; and confirm that all study-related expenses are identified and included in a projects estimated cost.

Develops processes, systems, educational programs and management of the financial operations of Clinical Trials supported by the Clinical Trials Office (CTO). Assists in policy/procedure development related to Clinical Trial Financial Management. Identifies changing areas of clinical trial risk and revises policies as needed to address and mitigate those risks.

Ensure HSC clinical trial programs have high quality and integrity in compliance with Federal, State and University guidelines. Assists in identifying appropriate internal controls; provides mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of the HSC’s program.
