Job Description

Provide advanced paraprofessional patient care and nursing services to the physically ill. Responsible for safety, comfort, treatment and care of patients requiring the specialization of a skilled registered nurse.

Preferred Qualifications

OCN or willing to obtain within three months of hire.

Assists assigned medical provider and mid-level in the clinical setting including but not limited to the physical examination of patients with a Medical Oncology/ Hematology malignancy; administers medications and injections as needed. Will be an integral part of the Medical Oncology/Hematology multi-disciplinary clinical team that assists in the care of patients from 18-80+. Provides CTRC Clinic cross coverage on an as needed basis.

Ensures the clinic flow runs smoothly and provides supervision of the assigned medical Assistant. Works closely with the assigned medical assistant to ensure all chart
preparation is complete and ready for clinic. Assist medical assistant with IVs and accessing CVC if needed. Works closely with assigned scheduler to ensure referrals, follow up appointments, diagnostic tests, etc. are scheduled accordingly per medical provider/mid-level orders.

Job Duty

Call-in prescriptions and refills for patients. Obtains prior authorization as needed on medications, diagnostic tests, and other medical procedures.

Triage patient calls and work closely with call center team members. Assists and arranges for hospital admissions as needed. Follow-up on diagnostic tests, labs and ensures they are reported to the medical provider.
