Job Description

Responsible for verification and/or obtaining all information required to ensure payment for services provided in the clinic setting for procedures, special services, testing and durable medical equipment (DME).

Preferred Qualifications

Three years experience in an out-patient clinic setting or doctor’s office as an administrative support team member with experience in front desk, scheduling, or insurance back-ground. Strong clerical, medical terminology, communication, and computer skills. Experience in a billing office with CPT and ICD-10 codes.

Job Duty

Tracks referral utilization in and out of clinic. Produces reports or documentation upon request from management. Works with clinical staff to create process for pre-screening of all non-scheduled clinic procedures that need to be performed while patient is in clinic.

Coordinates or creates referral for outgoing visit/service request, verifying all information is provided which may include copies of medical documentation. Tracks to ensure appointments are scheduled.

Serves as insurance resource contact for all clinic staff. Remains up to date on all insurance issues through updates from Provider relations or insurance specific flyers and communicates updates to clinic staff.
