Job Description

Under general supervision, provides patient care for the neurosurgical patients in the inpatient Neuro-ICU setting. Provides consultation and advice to patients and support staff as an advanced practice
provider, Professional Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in Neurosurgery and/or Neuro-Critical Care is preferred. Knowledge of health education focused in Neuroscience.

Job Duties

Job Duty

Performs medical examinations and evaluations, follow-up, consultation, and health education. Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Provides care for patients on the Neuro-critical care Service.

Job Duty

Performs services, guidance and instruction as it relates to the Neuro-critical care Service. Assists the service in coordinating the organization of the neurosurgical cases. Performs as assistant in the procedures performed by the service. Coordinates the daily schedule in consultation with the attending and other members of the team.

Job Duty

Organizes the referrals and transfers of patients to the Neurosurgical and Neuro-critical care Service. Responsible for clinical data entry in the different internal databases. Supports the internal recordkeeping system(s), including maintaining and auditing data and providing status and activity reports
as required in the research protocols implemented in the section and complete all the forms as required by the HIC.

Job Duty

Interacts directly with hospital staff, patients, and the general public as a liaison for the neurosurgical and neuro-critical care service.
Other duties as assigned.
