Job Description

This position will provide support for the analytical, accounting, financial reporting and budgeting activities within the Long School of Medicine (LSOM) Dean’s office. Responsibilities include development and implementation of financial reporting, data analysis, data management, and prediction of current/future financial performance of departments, to include aspects of the annual budget preparation. Also prepares and develops analytical methods, including forecasting and modeling, and produces short-term and long-term financial projections.

Responsible for aspects of the “All Funds” budget and Long School of Medicine (LSOM) Administration. Researches, compiles and reports actual to budget variances for all funds in the LSOM, including ad hoc reviews at the departmental level.

Job Duty

Design and prepare management reports related to the financial health of all departments and the LSOM Dean’s office. Manage the preparation of budget for all components of the LSOM. Provide support to budget managers and departmental administrators and maintain financial and productivity models and reports that contribute to the financial planning efforts. Has oversight of reviewing departmental annual budget proposals for validity against historical metrics such as clinical volumes, financial performance, and faculty metrics.

Job Duty

Coordinate, develop, assemble and administer the long-term financial planning and decision support for new initiatives, cost/benefit analysis of new business and budget including development of the financial management reporting standards. Define and conduct the statistical analysis for the development of programs, meet with leadership of departments initiating the program to present and discuss the financial forecasts, and work with them to fine-tune the financial model.
