Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Information Management, or other related field and at least four (4) years of experience in writing, developing and managing engaging web content, developing content strategies, or other related experience. Requires at least three (3) years of experience using enterprise content management systems.

Job Description

This position has responsibility for leading a collaborative, enterprise-wide effort to develop compelling stories and experiences for interactive content across web, social, and mobile platforms. By interpreting analytics and applying best practices with trending data, a comprehensive online content strategy will be created that connects user needs across the Academic, Clinical, Research, and Community Outreach missions. Employs and/or oversees a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative methods to assess user needs and content effectiveness, including analytics, personal interviews, focus groups, surveys, usability & perception testing. The results of the assessment will be used to plan, architect, and improve content across online platforms, including search engine optimization, social media outreach and other digital engagement strategies. Develops and maintains guidelines and workflows for the creation of high-quality, accessible content, including editorial style guidelines for interactive content.

The Digital Experience Manager will supervise a growing staff of web content specialists, content strategists, social media specialists and other support staff.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate may also have background in Social Engineering, Internet Informatics, or Web Consulting. Experience within an Academic Medical Center, University, Clinical Research, or Life Sciences sectors.

Collaborates with writers, designers, strategists, and developers to create a user experience that’s second-to-none across large-scale websites and platforms. Drives quantitative and qualitative methods to assess user needs and content effectiveness. Uses the results of the above assessment to plan, architect, and improve content across online plat-forms, including search engine optimization and social media outreach.
Develops and maintains guidelines and workflows for the creation of high-quality, accessible content, including editorial style guidelines for interactive content. Develops taxonomies, metadata and/or nomenclature schemas for interactive environments. Oversees and curates web content, identifying new content needs and using lean, scalable content development processes to guide creation of compelling user-centered content.

Coordinates with project teams on content development timelines and procedures. Develops brand style and content standards and ensure they are consistently followed across all messaging. Discovers and assesses current and emerging content strategy techniques, practices and user needs, and train staff on these areas. Develops, implements, and optimizes content marketing strategies, building conversations and tactical programs to influence audiences across various social and digital platforms. Set a very high bar for quality, engaging content.

Researches, obtains, and utilizes relevant data and information, market research including client feedback, in collaboration with internal clients to develop a digital engagement plan to promote the missions of the organization with defined strategy and goals. Responsible for daily planning and meetings associated with digital engagement activities. Develops plan to communicate feedback related to understanding issues and identifying opportunities related to content development, execution and performance to internal and external stakeholders and collaborative groups.

Provides business intelligence that identifies problem areas for resolution, and opportunities for service improvement through development of new clinical services and/or education. Determines appropriate metrics with to track and measure online, social, and other digital strategy performance. Manages staff and staffing requirements to achieve growth goals.
